Thursday was Toddler Time at The Morris Museum.
The children talked about landscapes and looked at paintings of nature and then went to the activities room to create their own art. During these times, Lucy has painted a still-life of found objects, a texture rubbing, a Medusa snake (after Ida Kohlmeyer's Medusa chair) and, this week, a pet rock -- rocks are in nature, you know.
She loves the quiet of the museum and seeing the pictures. Since before she was two, she and I have had museum days.
Seeing paintings with Lucy makes a difference in seeing paintings.

You are so fortunate to have both grandchild and museums within reach of each other... close enough to take for granted, even. How special for both of you!
This is a great program-wish we had one in Greenville. Tell Kathryn that I read her blog, but there is no way to leave an anonymous comment. I will not sign up with Google-I have not had a good experience with them. At least she allows everyone to read them. One of my former teaching partners made hers private, so I do not even get to read about her and her famiy anymore. Its so nice to be able to keep up with you now.

Karen, most of the things which I include in my blog are close enough for walking. Some days, Lucy and I are lazy and drive, but it is a nice option. I am trying to take advantage of the few more months that the girls will be in my house. I certainly have mixed emotions about the two years and I know that I will miss hearing their voices in the house when they have moved.
Judy, But YOU have a zoo! It's small buy well-done. I girls went there often about 40 years ago! Kathryn keeps track of her readers, but would love to hear from you -- maybe an email. Sorry Google has been a problem.
